1984-1988 - Canon. Manages the Department of Professional Photography, organising the “CPS” and advising professional press and fashion photographers. Starts to experiment making his own photographs in a completely self-taught manner.
1988-1990 - Advertising Agency Contrapunto.
1990 – Fernando becomes a free-lance advertising photographer, making many of the most important campaigns in Spain, taking part in international magazines like Archive y Communication Arts as well as the Graphic Festival of New York.
During this period, as promotion, he has undertaken the making of five books, four calendars and the catalogue of his first exhibition at the Arte XXI gallery (2006)
2.007 - As a result of the America’s Cup ( Valencia 2007), he was commissioned by Caja Madrid to make a book about sailing from an artistic angle.
2.008 - During the entire year, commissioned by Turismo Madrid, he was immersed in undertaking author’s originals looking at the Comunidad de Madrid ( province of Madrid) as the subject matter.
2.008 - Presentation of the unedited book “Madrid Fernando Manso”, edited by Turner and Turismo Madrid. Released for sale in January 2009.
Exhibitions:
- September 2006. Galería Arte XXI, Madrid. His first single exhibition of his artistic photographs with mist as the connecting thread.
- October 2007. Fundación Canal Isabel II, Madrid. Participates in the ‘ Ocultos ’ (Hidden) exhibition with sixty six authors amongst whom the great masters of photography were included. Presents his work Armonía.
- Arco 2007 and Arco 2008. Presents his works Lago and the quadriptic Islandia with Ars Fundum.
- March 2008. The Museum of Contemporary Art of Unión Fenosa (MACUF), in La Coruña. XXI Century Still Life exhibition, his own artistic and personal interpretation of twenty recipes from the current best Spanish cooks. This was commissioned by the Xunta and Unión Fenosa.
- October 2008. Seville’s Biannual of Contemporary Art (BIACS3). Presents his work “Ramas Japonesas” with Ars Fundum.
- November 2008, the 9th edition of Madrid’s Independent International Fair (FIAM), showing four author’s work.
- At Arco 2009, he showed six personal works as an independent author.
- Fitur 2009, at the stand of the Comunidad de Madrid, he exhibits seventy works (in duratrans of 1m x 1,5m) belonging to the book “Madrid Fernando Manso”. The aforementioned stand won the fair’s first prize .
- May 2009, at Madridfoto shows the original Palacio de Cristal at the Turner Editorial stand.
- May 2009, at the Cervantes Institute in Moscow, exhibits thirty one originals belonging to his book “Madrid Fernando Manso”.
